Welcome to the seventh edition of our ASMUN model, “Beyond privilege, towards equality” It is a pleasure for me to be part of the management team again and this time as your Secretary General. ASMUN has been characterized over the years by having an impeccable organization, great teamwork and its commitment and willingness to everyone, and this year will undoubtedly be no exception.

I have been part of the Model United Nations since I was 10 years old and if I have learned anything it is that everything that is built with dedication and effort will be a bridge of infinite tools and knowledge. ASMUN, more than being a group of well-trained people, is a family full of desire to offer you the best of each one so that you can enjoy and learn so much from this event, it has been quite a challenge.

The same challenge that each of you face every day to build the tomorrow that we so long for. I hope this experience is to your greatest pleasure and remains captured in your hearts. Receive a warm welcome.

Warm greetings and welcome to the seventh edition of American School Model of United Nations “Beyond Privilege, Towards Equality”.

ASMUN is a milepost that besides representing great pride and effort, has always been a space which argues the current normative. A space where innovation and divergence play a role to soar upon mistakes, dogmatism, controversies and conflict in our current world.

However, this year, in a world full of individual mindsets, we hope it becomes a space where we, as a community, can take power in our hands and use it to provide a fairer and stronger society, avoiding possible misfortunes in the near future. ASMUN’s team pledges to make this event an opportunity for the development of a better today. Welcome to ASMUN VII.

Delegates and senators, welcome.

My name is Gabriela Hernández, I am the Academic Director of this seventh edition of ASMUN, it is an honor for me to be able to share this experience that for me is my last with all of you. I’m happy to know that I will be doing it with the best attitude, collaboration, empathy, and commitment that always has characterized me, so that I can give all of you an experience that you have for sure will be unforgettable, and I will leave you some learning for your life as well as entering the world of models did it with me.

Without further ado, I hope that this model and the work we are doing together with my Co Director and the Secretary General, will meet all your expectations and be totally to your liking so that with the help of all of you we leave a mark and mark a legacy.
